Despite only forming in 2016, Jellyskin have already created a unique sound and began making an impression on the wider music scene. Having played a sold out show at Sheffield’s prestigious Leadmill as support for The Moonlandingz, the band have since embarked on a tour playing dates from Manchester to Tunbridge Wells. Word is starting to spread about the Leeds-based band.
Having featured their song 'Eater' on our monthly 'Discover' playlist in May, we thought we'd check out whether new single 'Only Rain (Flows To Beach)' would live up to our high standards.
While many bands can be accused of trying too hard and overcomplicating music videos, Jellyskin show maturity beyond their years that will surely be the envy of many up and coming bands across the UK. The video has an effortlessly cool feel to it, that is matched only by the song itself.
On first listen 'Only Rain (Flows To Beach)' is instantly catchy. Singer Zia Larty-Healy's vocals are mesmerising and perfectly complement the music, which is as atmospheric and minimal as The XX only with psychedelic undertones - an essential for any summer playlist. Having already started making waves in their first year of forming the band, they’re definitely ones to keep an eye out for.
